So how does it work?

It is really important to us to find the right people to join our Franchise. We are not in the business to “sell” Franchises. Franchisees need to belong to our team so it is important that we can work together. We therefore ask for an initial meting without any obligation so you can see whether you like us and what we offer, and we can see if we feel you would be suitable to join our team.

We have built up a superb group of Franchisees and, as we work closely together in training and development of our business, it is important for us to ensure you will be able to become part of the group. The informal chat is held at our head office in Longton, which also gives you the chance to look at a working office. If you then wish to proceed we take you through the five steps to success.

1. Territory
Franchisee, you are assigned sole rights to an area. Once an area is chosen a small deposit reserves it to enable you to find suitable premises.

2. Premises
You require retail-type premises of approximately 1000sq ft in a position that is reasonably prominent, whilst avoiding the high costs of a premium site. We will assist you in selecting a suitable location and in negotiating the lease. All MovingWorks offices are prepared to the same specification, with distinctive exterior and interior signage, and standard colour schemes, fixtures, fitting and furnishings.

3. Training
Prior to your opening, we will train you comprehensively in accordance with the MovingWorks Operations Manual, a copy of which will be issued to you. The course at our HQ aims to prepare you thoroughly for your role as Franchisee and concentrates on every aspect of property valuation, sales negotiation, client care, documentation, staff recruitment, administration and accounting procedures. We want your start-up to be a smooth as possible and as you open for business, a member of the support team will be on site with you for a specified number of days, to assist generally and provide initial hand-holding.

4. Obtaining your first client
To set the ball rolling, a programme of launch publicity material will spread the news of your arrival in your area.
